Agency Administration provides support services for the agency through fiscal management, grants administration and budgeting. The department administers various programs and functions to include accounting, financial reporting, human resources, payroll, purchasing, copy center and mail room operation, and records management. In addition, the department is responsible for the development and oversight of the agency’s policy and procedures.
Community Services has program responsibilities for the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging, Regional 9-1-1 Emergency Number Administration, Criminal Justice Planning and Funds Allocation, Public Safety Radio Communications, Law Enforcement Training, and Local Government Training.
Emergency Preparedness provides guidance, advocacy and coordination to the governmental and non-governmental constituents in the North Central Texas Region committed to the effective management of both natural and man-made emergencies. This is accomplished by providing a neutral environment for our constituents and by connecting people with resources and seeking opportunities to maximize available solutions.
The Environment & Development department has adopted the overall theme of Sustainable Environmental Excellence—or SEE. The principles of SEE—caring for the region in a way that benefits all North Central Texas today and into the future— now guide the efforts of the department and the region as we make plans for this growing and changing area in the 21st century. The SEE initiatives comprise three strategic issues: SEE Less Trash, SEE Safe Clean & Green, and SEE Development Excellence.
The Executive Director's Office is responsible for management of the Agency, including staff support for the Executive Board. As the Chief Executive and Administrative Officer, the Executive Director's primary mission is to effectively and efficiently carry out the policies and directives of the Executive Board and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Agency. The Executive Director's office maintains all records of the Board, including the official minutes, resolutions, bylaws and committee appointments. This office also manages the Texas Review and Comment System and several local government professional roundtables.
Public Affairs provides external services on behalf of the Agency in the form of news media/public relations, directories, newsletters, special publications, and operation of NCTCOG's Regional Information Center. This division also provides internal services for all departments, such as graphics design and photography, agency switchboard, mailing lists, meeting/workshop support, and special projects.
Research and Information Services serves the people of North Texas by providing data collection, analysis, and modeling on a variety of topics including population, housing, employment, economic development, and land use. The department supplies useful information to the public through development and support of unique applications including technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Internet applications, and others. These same technologies and concepts are used to support other governmental entities as they deliver services to their citizens. Additionally, RIS assists other NCTCOG departments enhance their interactions and service delivery by maintaining superior and secure communication with their employees and customers in familiar formats and forums. The information and technologies are made available to internal and external customers and constituents by maintaining a network of servers and computers in locations throughout the NCTCOG 16 county region. The services are provided to customers through a reliable and secure network by implementing and managing leading information security technologies.
The Transportation Department develops and implements transportation plans, programs, projects, policies, partnerships and performance measures aimed at reducing congestion, enhancing mobility, and improving air quality through a continuous, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process, The goal of this process is the development, implementation, and operation of an integrated intermodal transportation system that provides for the safe and efficient movement of both people and goods.View Department Video
Workforce Solutions administers publicly funded employment and training programs for 14 counties in North Central Texas. The department provides staff support to the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board by providing planning, coordination, management, and oversight services.
