All full-time employees and part-time employees working 30 hours or more per week participate in the 401(a) retirement plan offered through ICMA. The employee contributes 6% of tax deferred gross pay and NCTCOG contributes 12%. All contributions are vested 100% after 7 years.
All part-time employees working less than 30 hours per week and Interns participate in the 457 retirement plan offered through ICMA. The employee contributes 3.75% of tax deferred gross pay and NCTCOG contributes 3.75%. All contributions are vested 100% immediately.
Employees participating in the 401(a) are also eligible to contribute supplemental allocations into a 457 account. There is no NCTCOG match on supplemental contributions and all contributions are vested 100% immediately.
Employees are are eligible to participate in a Roth IRA plan offered by ICMA through payroll deduction. Employees may contribute a minimum of 1% of their salary or $10 per pay period. All contributions made to the Roth IRA are after-tax. There is no NCTCOG match and all contributions are vested 100% immediately.
