Holiday Pay

Full Time and Part Time employees and Interns working 30 hours or more receive eight paid holidays per year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Full time employees receive 8 hours per day, Part Time 30 employees and Interns working 30 or more hours receive 6 hours per day and Part Time 20 employees receive 4 hours per day.

Personal Days

Regular and part-time employees hired before June 1 of the calendar year will receive two personal days for that year. If hired between June 1 and September 30, then the employee will receive one personal day. Employees receive two personal days each year thereafter on January 1. Full time employees receive 8 hours per day, Part Time 30 employees receive 6 hours per day and Part Time 20 employees receive 4 hours per day.

 

Vacation Accrual

Full Time and Part Time Employees accrue vacation based on years of eligible service and NCTCOG's accrual schedule.

*Annual Accrual Rates are based on an eight hour work day for Full Time employees, a six hour work day for Part Time (30) employees and a four hour work day for Part Time (20) employees.

Sick Leave Accrual

Regular and temporary full-time employees accrue 3.08 hours of sick leave per pay period. Part-time (30) employees accrue 2.31 hours and Part-time (20) employees accrue 1.54 hours of paid sick leave per pay period. Employees are eligible immediately for sick leave that they have accrued. Sick leave may be used for health care appointments of the employee and members of their immediate family. Maximum accrual for sick leave is 480 hours.

 

Incentive Plan

Any employee using 16 hours or less of sick leave in a calendar year receives two employee service days (16 hours) in the following year. Any employee using more than 16 but less than 24 hours of sick leave in a calendar year receives one employee service day (8 hours) in the following year. An employee must be a regular full-time employee from January 1st through December 31st and must be on the payroll January 1st of the following year to receive incentive leave.

Prepaid Legal Services
From simple questions to major legal issues, access to the advice of a lawyer is available to our employees.  NCTCOG provides the option of pre-paid legal services through payroll deduction, at a fraction of the cost for most attorneys' fees. 

Employee Assistance Program
We at NCTCOG know that employees encounter difficult times in their lives and sometimes need help and guidance. This is why NCTCOG provides our employees with New Directions, an employee assistance program, geared toward helping you through any and all rough patches that you may encounter while working with us.

Bi-Annual Wellness Fair
NCTCOG provides a bi-annual wellness fair designed to show employees a good time while educating them on healthy living and providing local resources to help with living a healthier lifestyle.  The wellness fair features booths, activities, and presentations from local vendors, supplying health screenings, products and services available, information on health issues, and much more.

Lunch & Learn Seminars
It is important to NCTCOG that our employees are growing as individuals.  A wide range of job-based and personal enrichment training is available throughout Lunch & Learn program.  These brown bag lunch sessions have covered classes on communication skills, personal investment, healthy lifestyles, and everything in between. 

Alternative Commute Programs
NCTCOG believes in environmental stewardship, and promotes employee efforts to clean the air and reduce congestion by offering an alternative commute program. Participating employees earn rewards by incorporating carpooling, bicycling, walking, public transportation, telecommuting, and variable work schedules into their work weeks. 

Alternate Work Schedules
We understand that our employees have busy lives outside of work.  Employees are able to work with their supervisors to determine a flexible work schedule that fits both their individual and the agency's needs.
